TIMES HAVE certainly changed in the tanning business, and the latest, most noticeable example of that is the brandnew Coastá Tanning Resort. Completely transformed from its roots as Sun City Tanning, which has operated in the Greater Atlanta area for more than 30 years, the first Coastá location is located in Bethlehem, GA, but looks more like it belongs on the beaches of St. Lucia or the Maldives. The visual appeal is stunning, but when you peel back the layers behind the opulent environment, you find what really makes Coastá a prime example of the quintessential contemporary tanning business.

David Collins, John DiLoreto, and Mo Makkani purchased Sun City Tanning in 2019 with an entirely different vision in mind, centered on a holistic tanning and wellness experience at an unbeatable value for members. When you look at the first Coastá location that just opened this April, it’s like you’re seeing the future of tanning, and the owners also have a clear vision and ambitious plans for the future of their operation.

“We’re marrying the spa and wellness aspects in a very high-end environment that emulates a five-star, high-end resort,” Mo says.“Our plan for the company is to take it nationwide.”
